Third Generation

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

My family has been a clan of performers which started from my mother. She has been a ballet dancer all her life, and when she finally left her dance troupe after numerous successful performances, she shared her passion for dancing to through the ballet school that she opened. Having been strongly influenced by my mother, I soon followed her footsteps and I have made a mark on modern jazz instead of classical ballet. My love for dance was one of the things I am very much thankful for that was opened up to me by my mother.

Now that I have my own kids, I would also like them to discover and explore the wonderful world of dance. Aside from giving them the values of self-confidence and perseverance it also helps them to become more confident. After enrolling them to the class they would want to enroll in, we headed out to purchase dancewear for kids that they will be using all summer. So far, my kids are definitely enjoying their classes and hopefully will transform into third generation professional dancers.

Traditional Halloween costumes never go out of style. There will always be a Cinderella, a magician or a witch. But you will soon get tired of these attires and envision unique childrens costumes. Why not go theatrical and choose current movie or TV characters. How about going to town in an Ugly Betty costume or be Harry Potter in his latest movie.

Masks and hats are great accessories but why not try using make-up instead. It will be more comfortable for the child and you can make it as unique and matchless as your imagination. Again, for safety’s sake, mind the footwear that will go with the costume. Don’t allow Cinderella to roam around in high heels. She might sprain her ankles before she finds her charming Prince.
